Envac expands waste collection system in Odense with major new project

Envac is excited to announce the signing of a significant contract for a major pipe installation project in Odense, marking a strong start to 2025. The project, centred around the Dronningesgade district, will expand the existing pneumatic waste collection system in Odense’s city centre, enhancing the city’s sustainability by reducing transport within the urban area.

The order, valued at approximately EUR 1.8 million for Envac, will involve excavation and the installation of 2,000 metres of piping. Work is expected to commence in the summer of 2025, with project completion anticipated in January 2028. This is a major contract by Danish standards and highlights Envac’s continued growth in the region.

Envac has entered into a consortium agreement with Egelund, a local construction company responsible for project management, excavation, and work coordination. The total order value for the consortium exceeds EUR 5.4 million, demonstrating the scale and ambition of the project.

The project was awarded following a competitive tender process, with Odense Renovation A/S, the municipal waste company, serving as the contracting authority for this initiative.

Final approval for the project was granted by the Odense City Council (Byråd) in early March 2025.

This development represents a crucial step towards making Odense’s waste collection more efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly while supporting the city’s long-term vision to reduce CO₂ emissions and urban traffic congestion.

Stay tuned for further updates. We look forward to working with Egelund and Odense Renovation A/S on this exciting project.
